【摘要】:Thearomatichydrocarboncontentofmotordieselfuelisafactorthatcanaffectexhaustemissionsandfuelcombustioncharacteristics,asmeasuredbycetanenumber.TheUnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(USEPA)regulatesthearomaticcontentofdieselfuels.CaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)regulationsplacelimitsonthetotalaromaticscontentandpolynucleararomatichydrocarboncontentofmotordieselfuel,thusrequiringanappropriateanalyticaldeterminationtoensurecompliancewiththeregulations.Thistestmethodisapplicabletomaterialsinthesameboilingrangeasmotordieselfuelsandisunaffectedbyfuelcoloration.TestMethodD1319,whichhasbeenmandatedbytheUSEPAforthedeterminationofaromaticsinmotordieselfuel,excludesmaterialswithfinalboilingpointsgreaterthan315x00B0;C(600x00B0;F)fromitsscope.TestMethodD2425isapplicabletothedeterminationofbothtotalaromaticsandpolynucleararomatichydrocarbonsindieselfuel,butismuchmorecostlyandtime-consumingtoperform.TestMethodD5186,currentlyspecifiedbyCARB,isalsoapplicabletothedeterminationofbothtotalaromaticsandpolynucleararomatichydrocarbonsindieselfuel.TestMethodD5186,however,specifiestheuseofsupercriticalfluidchromatographyequipmentthatmaynotbereadilyavailable.Note28212;TestMethodD5186waspreviouslyspecifiedbyCARBasanalternativetoTestMethodD1319.1.1Thistestmethodcoversahighperformanceliquidchromatographictestmethodforthedeterminationofmono-aromatic,di-aromatic,tri+-aromatic,andpolycyclicaromatichydrocarboncontentsindieselfuelsandpetroleumdistillatesboilingintherangefrom150to400176;C.Thetotalaromaticcontentin%m/miscalculatedfromthesumofthecorrespondingindividualaromatichydrocarbontypes.Note1Aviationfuelsandpetroleumdistillateswithaboilingpointrangefrom50to300176;CarenotdeterminedbythistestmethodandshouldbeanalyzedbyTestMethod,D6379orothersuitableequivalenttestmethods.1.2Theprecisionofthistestmethodhasbeenestablishedfordieselfuelsandtheirblendingcomponents,containingfrom4to40%(m/m)mono-aromatichydrocarbons,0to20%(m/m)di-aromatichydrocarbons,0to6%(m/m)tri+-aromatichydrocarbons,0to26%(m/m)polycyclicaromatichydrocarbons,and4to65%(m/m)totalaromatichydrocarbons.1.3Compoundscontainingsulfur,nitrogen,andoxygenarepossibleinterferents.Mono-alkenesdonotinterfere,butconjugateddi-andpoly-alkenes,ifpresent,arepossibleinterferents.1.4Byconvention,thisstandarddefinesthearomatichydrocarbontypesonthebasisoftheirelutioncharacteristicsfromthespecifiedliquidchromatographycolumnrelativetomodelaromaticcompounds.Quantificationisbyexternalcalibrationusingasinglearomaticcompound,whichmayormaynotberepresentativeofthearomaticsinthesample,foreacharomatichydrocarbontype.Alternativetechniquesandmethodsmayclassifyandquantifyindividualaromatichydrocarbontypesdifferently.1.5FattyAcidMethylEsters(FAME),ifpresent,interferewithtri+-aromatichydrocarbons.IfthismethodisusedfordieselcontainingFAME,theamountoftri+-aromaticswillbeoverestimated.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
